24.12.13 – We arrived well in Kalbarri. Here is about 31 degree and most people carries Santa Hut. We cool down in the water at the bay where the Murchison River flows into the ocean. It’s Christmas Time? Unbelievable, but all people remember me when they say good bye with Merry Christmas 🙂
25.12.13 – On Christmas Day I didn’t open any gifts. But we had a great gift from the nature in the National Park. Canyon, a dried Murchison River and a beautiful dessert. On the way to the National Park I met a Kangoroo first time! But the time wasn’t optimal, I must take a full breaking and I thought first: „Shit, I guess I’m fucked now!“ But the friendly Kangoroo did suddenly make another decision and returns back from the middle of the road. I’m was lucky that the Kangoroo did that, otherwise there would be one less of them in Australia 🙂
In the National Park we took a little hiking down into the canyon at Z Bend. It was very beautiful on the way and in the canyon. But it was very hot there, 10 degree more than outside. I met also a redback spider first time, but the location wasn’t well. On the toilet!

24.12.13 – Wir sind hier gut in Kalbarri angekommen. Es ist 31°C, die Leute laufen mit Santa Mütze herum und wir kühlen uns hier in der Bucht ab, an der Mündung des Murchison River. Es ist Weihnachten? Unvorstellbar, es wird einem immer beim Verabschieden daran erinnert, Merry Christmas! 🙂
25.12.13 – Am Christmas Day habe ich keine Geschenke ausgepackt, aber wir liessen uns durch die wunderbare Natur im Nationalpark reichlich beschenken. Im Form von Schluchten, trockener Murchison River, und unheimlicher dürren Wüstenlandschaft. Bei der Hinfahrt zum Park am Morgen früh gab es bereits die erste Begegnung mit einem Känguru. Nur nicht gerade zum optimalen Zeitpunkt, ich musste zuerst eine Vollbremsung machen und der Känguru hat in der Mitte der Strasse entschieden umzukehren. Meine Gedanken waren zuerst: „Shit, I guess I’m fucked now“, war aber dann froh hat der Känguru sich anders entschieden, sonst hätte es jetzt einer weniger in Australien 🙂 Ab und zu sieht man tote Kangurus am Strassenrand…
Im Park machten wir eine kleine Wanderung zum Z Bend, wo der Murchison River ein Canyon in Form eines Z über die viele Jahrtausende geformt hat. Die Wanderung runter in den Canyon war sehr eindrücklich. Allerdings war es bereits um 10 Uhr ziemlich heiss, da im Canyon gut 10°C wärmer ist. Zum ersten Mal habe ich auch eine grosse (weibliche) Rotrückenspinnen gefunden. Nur der Ort war etwas unpassend, auf einer WC Schüssel!
